CVBMC event to Trail of Faith
Valdese Saturday April 13th, 2024
Our outing will include a country roads drive, a tour of the Waldensian Trail of Faith, and a picnic lunch on the grounds at the Trail of Faith.
"The Trail" is a decades long project by retired NC senator Jim Jacumin to document the history of the Waldensians from their years in Italy to their relocation to Valdese, where they were stone masons, bakers, and operated a saw mill. Here is the link to the website with more information.

9:45 Meet at Winkler Park (Hickory Crawdads)
10:00 Depart Winkler Park. Right out of Winkler Park onto Clement/ 9th Ave, drive 1.7 miles. Right turn onto Airport Rhodhiss Rd., drive 2.6 miles.
Left turn onto Rhodhiss Rd., drive 2.6 miles.
Right turn onto Oak Ridge Church Rd., drive 1.3 miles Left turn onto Shady Grove Rd., drive 1.2 miles.
Right turn onto Hwy 70, thru Rutherford College township and into Valdese, drive 3.8 miles. Right turn onto Church St., drive 0.3 miles.
Right turn into the Trail of Faith. Arrive approx. 10:30.
Check in with the office, pay admission ($8) & headphones if you like ($2) and make the tour.
~11:30 we will find a shady location on the ground (likely near the bocci board area) What to bring? Your favorite British car, lawn chairs, your picnic lunch
