The Catawba Valley British Motor Club is a very active club that offers lots of fun events and gatherings for its members. We are always happy to have others join our fun club. We are loosely centered in Hickory located in the Piedmont of North Carolina. The Blue Ridge area of the Appalachian Mountains provides much beauty as well as many wonderful rolling mountain roads for the British automobiles we love to drive.

Monthly Meetings
The club meets monthly on the second Tuesday of each month to discuss club business and plan activities. These meetings are scheduled at local ‘pubs’ where good food and atmosphere provide congenial environments for the gathering of the ’faithful’......dedicated to the restoration, preservation and enjoyment of all British automobiles - and interest in automobiles in general.
We start gathering at 5:30 p.m. and spend some time kicking tires prior to eating and the meeting. Members are encouraged to drive their “special” vehicles to the meetings— weather permitting of course.
The meeting usually starts around 6:45 p.m. The business portion of the meeting is conducted by the President and consists of reports from all of the board members, event reports from any of the members who have attended events during the last month, any old or new business for the good of the club.
We frequently have guest speakers who present talks on areas of interest to our club members. If you have a suggestion for a speaker or event, please feel free to contact the Events Chairman or President to let them know who/what/where etc.
We have a form on the website for submitting Event ideas, just look for Home/Our Events/Submit an Event and you be taken to a form that will get to the right people.
Some meetings we just kick back and members give updates on restoration projects, new cars or ask for technical help to get them over a car related hurdle. Sharing of information is what we do best. Always check the website to confirm the location of our next meeting.

Special Meetings
Some months we change up the monthly meeting with a special “party” atmosphere. Those months we have less meeting – more party! Valentines Day and the Christmas party are examples of two of our special meetings. Check the Events menu on the web page to see the details on those two events.

Club Events
Our website lists the club events as they come in. We designate certain events with icons to show members what type of event they are. Arrows are used for monthly meetings, and the CVBMC logo shows an “official” event – one that the club is putting on.
Other logos will show events of interest racing enthusiasts, other club events etc. Check the Calendar page for a color coded list of upcoming events.

Website
The website is our main means of communication with our members. We update it frequently and it has many unique pages of interest to our members.
You will find Event listings, stories by our members, stories by a British friend on many topics of the history of the British cars, a classified ad section, technical topics and more. Take some time to check it out at http://www.cvbmc.org/
In addition to the content pages, we use an email program to get information to our members. Meeting notices, event reminders, requests for information on specific topics and dues reminders are a small listing of the types of emails that you may receive. We try not to “overload” your inbox but occasionally we will be sending out more than one message in a short period of time.
If your email address changes, please let the Membership Chairman and the Webmaster know as soon as you can so we can update our database.
