July 9, 2019 Meeting

Call to order: David Poe called the meeting to order. There were 40 members present. David announced that after the meeting those interested could go to Blacktop Studio Restoration Shop on Morganton Furniture Rd to see the cars that are in the shop.

Officer reports:

  • Treasurer – David Diener Current balance is $3,428.93.
  • Publications – Corky Guenther asked for articles for The Marque. It was suggested that Tom Young give him information on The Great Race that he attended.
  • Events – Erik Jordan
    • Highland Games and Car Show at Grandfather Mountain July 11-14
    • National Collector Car Appreciation Day July 12 4-7pm Denver, NC
    • 2019 Concours Little Switzerland NC Jaguar Club July 11-14
  • Tom Young gave a presentation of his Great Race Trip with his son in California. They traveled in a 1972 Cougar Convertible. Had a great time and learned a lot. Next year the event begins at the Alamo and ends in SC.
  • Web Master- Kathy Ahrendt Nothing to report.
  • Old Business:
  1. Cars and coffee Atlanta Bread, 
  2. Saturday picnic in the mountains for July 27th 2019 at 10:30 am.

Must sign up for event by July 21 and bring an item to share. Chicken will be provided and the Guenthers will go early to reserve our spot.

50/50 Drawing $107.00 collected and winner Tom Young received $54.00. Jerry Sicard won the July 4th goodies.

Anything for the good of the order?

Dave Barlowe announced a TR6 for sale and can give interested parties information. Dave and Leslie celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary.
