February 13, 2018 Meeting

Call to Order: Dean Sprague called the meeting to order at 6:52pm. Fifty-nine members were present.

Dean Sprague announced that the Valentine’s cake is for women only!

Officer Reports:

VP David Poe: David Poe reminded everyone that dues need to be paid. He or Diana Makransky will accept the money. 

Treasurer Diana Makransky: The treasury amount is $3408.63.

Publications Corky Guenther: An article is needed within a month. He reminded everyone that there are badges ($2.00), car badges for the grill ($35.00), magnets ($12.00), vinyl signs ($10.00), license plate emblems ($6.00) and hats ($10.00) still available.

Events Erik Jordan: Erik was not in attendance so Dean Sprague reported.

March 24—Tartan Day South in Columbia, S. Carolina 9am-9pm

April 14—Block Party in Denver, NC. by Elite Vehicle Restorations. 2018 Classic Sports Car Spring Kick-Off 9am-3pm

April 20-22—The Gathering at Shelton Vineyards in Dobson, NC. Deadline March 15 to register. Car show on April 20.

April 28—Uwharrie Mountain’s British Car Meet at Higgins Farm in Jackson Creek, NC. Bring a covered dish to share.

May 5—Yadkin Valley

Local Events: Any ideas send to Jerry or Charlie.

February 15—Road trip to Yellow Deli in Hiddenite, then go to the Art and Heritage Center or Antique Store. Time for the deli is 11am.

Last Saturday of each month: Cars and Coffee—(next February 24) at Atlanta Bread at 9:30am

Motion made to take money from the treasury for the main course meats whenever we have a picnic. Seconded and passed.

Web Master Kathy Ahrendt: Should she book the Christmas party at the Crowne Plaza for next year? Answer—Yes.

OLD BUSINESS:

Cars and Coffee at Atlanta Bread on January 27. There was a good turnout and the next one is February 24.

Frank Mullins has offered his home Friday before the Tartan Day British Car Show March 24.Let Dean Sprague know if you are interested in staying there.

John Merhar has offered his house in Carolina Beach for club members during the “British at the Battleship” show on May 5 in Willmington, NC. Let Dean Sprague know if interested.

Dessert Time: Most people got cake!

50/50 Drawing: Clay Rawn was in charge of the event. He received $92.00 in ticket sales, so Al Pyne, the winner, went home with $46.00.

David Barlowe has a 450 SL Mercedes that is not running he wants to sell. The price is $2500.00 firm.
