CVBMC Meeting Minutes July 11, 2017

Call to order: President Dean Sprague called the meeting to order at approximately 6:54pm. 35 people were in attendance.

Officer Reports:

VP David Poe—David Poe listed the results of the events survey voted on last month. The top two events were a picnic at a park and a picnic at Price Park on the Blue Ridge Parkway. David said some of these events will be planned with the help of Eric Jordan. David also told a very funny joke!

Treasurer Diana Makransky—The treasury has $2,806.33 in it.

Membership-- Gary Shaver: There are 58 paid members for 2017.

Publications—Corky Guenther asked for new articles for The Marque

Events—Erik Jordan .

July 22—Conover Masonic Lodge Car, Truck and Bike Show 8am-2pm at Faith Lutheran Church, Conover.

Cars and Coffee in Cornelius. Second Saturday of the month from 8am-11am at the Waterbean Coffee Shop 19420 Jetton Rd Cornelius, 28031.

Beginning August—Cars & Coffee with Gold Standard 2510 US Hwy 70 SW Hickory from 8-Noon. 3rd Saturday of the month.

September 2 Lenoir Cruise-In 4pm Free family fun night and car show. Vehicles must be street legal.

September 9 Autolawn European Classic Car Show at the Salt Block in Hickory. 10am-3pm. Free.

September 16 Miller Airpark Fly In and Car Show Mooresville, NC

Erik attended the Cornelius Cars and Coffee last month. If anyone finds out other car events, please share the info with Kathy Ahrendt so it can go on the Website.

October 7—Lenoir Cruise-In 4pm Vehicles must be street legal.

Two members had cars in the Rock Barn Euro Classic at the Rock Barn Country Club & Spa in Conover on July 7.

Mike Havlick will present a program on Competitive Driving Safely for our August meeting.

The Snack Bar in Hickory will be the meeting place for August 2017. We are going to try it as a regular venue for the club. There is no charge and we can order from the menu.

For the Good of the Order:

Dean Sprague drove his dream car to the event. Check it out in the parking lot.

David Diener thanked Dean Sprague, Dave Ahrendt, and Corky Guenther for working on the brakes of his MG TD.

50/50 Raffle Money collected was $68.00. ( THE LAWYER) probably Dewy Keller won $34.00.
