CVBMC Meeting Minutes October 11, 2016
Call to order: Vice- President Dean Sprague called the meeting to order at 6:55 pm. 43 people were in attendance.
Officer Reports:
VP David Poe—David still has license plates for $6.00 each (which also fit on lawn mowers!) and hats for $10.00 each.
Treasurer Diana Makransky—Treasury has $2572.50.
Membership-- Gary Shaver: There are 72 paid members for 2016. A new couple for 2017 was introduced: Joe and Dixie Pitea. The club welcomed them.
Publications—Corky Guenther is asking for info for the Marque whose deadline is October 15.
Events—Erik Jordan.
Erik Jordan was not present due to a death in his family.

Old Business:
Sam Grabenstein from Troy and Sons Distillery are offering a day trip with tasting and a ride on the Blue Ridge Parkway in the Asheville area. The date is set for October 29 unless a week day date is proposed. This date was cancelled and Erik and Dean will pick a date.
A leaf tour was proposed instead for October 22.More details will come.
Kathy Ahrendt showed samples of the club shirts She will take orders and sizes and the price is $30.00
New Business:
The elections for a new board will be held in November. Already Gary Shaver, Diana Makransky, David Poe and Ann Diener agreed to continue in their offices for next year.
Membership dues for 2017 are due in November. The cost is $25.00 for basic membership and $36.00 if British Marquee publication is included in your membership.
The Christmas Party was discussed and Bev Sprague will be in charge of the event. Committee volunteers were recruited, auction items were discussed and the cost is $17.00 each with the clubpaying an extra $5.00 per person. The event will be held at Crowne Plaza on December 13. Invitations will be sent out by the November meeting because number of attendees needs to be counted. Next month there will be a presentation for the charities proposed to benefit from the silent auction. A vote will be taken in November.
50/50 Drawing collected by Clay Rawn and won by Diana Makransky. The money was spilt $42.00/$42.00
