CVBMC Meeting Minutes May 10, 2016

Call to order: President Dean Sprague called the meeting to order at 7:05pm. 39 people were in attendance.

Officer Reports:

Treasurer Diana Makransky—Treasury has $2341.88.

Membership-- Gary Shaver: There are 59 paid members currently. 20 people need to be followed up on.

Publications—Corky Guenther: Articles are needed early next month because Corky will be going to a car event.

Events—Erik Jordan.

May 14 Transportation Museum trip in Spencer, NC. Leave from Boxcar Grill in Claremont at 9am. Take exit 135 on I-40. .

May 21 Cars and Coffee at Panera Bread on N Center Street at 9am.

May 26 British Car Show at The Greenville Scottish Games in Greenville, SC.

June 25 Rock Barn Country Club Euro Classic. 3791 Club House Drive Northeast,, Conover, NC 28613

Bobby Cox will look into an event at the Christmas tree farm in Crossnore.

Erik and the Ahrendt's attended the Shelby event April 26.

Old Business:

Update on the club license plates: Mike Outen Jr made the motion to order 25 plates, that will include free shipping and a 20% discount. The plates should be here by May 18. Motion seconded by Bobby Cox. It was decided to charge $6.00 per plate. David Poe will have the plates when available.

New Business:

Dean Sprague will be heading to Louisville, KY for MG2016, so David Poe will be presiding at the June meeting.

Gary Shaver has found new site for the meetings at Zorba’s on 70 just east of Grace Chapel. Some will try out the restaurant and get back to the group.

Christmas Party ideas: Look for auction items now while flea markets and garage sales are happening.

50/50 Drawing collected by Clay Rawn and won by Logan Keller. $35.00 went to Logan and $34.00 went to the club.

For the Good of the Order:

Gary Shaver commented on working next year with the Austin Healy Club to earn money for the Lupus Foundation.

Kenneth Edgar purchased a rusty bomb (TR7). Let him know if you need parts.

Dean Sprague and Bobby Cox worked on Dean’s Volvo. Dean’s son brought up his mini and they worked 3 days on it. (Ask Dean for the rest of the story.)
