CVBMC Meeting Minutes April 12, 2016

Call to order: President Dean Sprague called the meeting to order at 7pm. 50 people were in attendance. Guests were introduced: Gary Shaver introduced his friend Brandy Rice; Tom Young was in attendance in spite of recent hip replacement surgery; and Dean recognized OJ, who lives in Boone and has a classic car.

Officer Reports:

VP David Poe—Announced the death of Dot Martin’s brother.

Treasurer Diana Makransky—Treasury has $2,284.26.

Membership-- Gary Shaver. There are 57 paid members currently.

Publications—Corky Guenther. Corky needs articles from our club to submit to the Marque. If you have information for the Marque, give it to him and he will get it ready for publication.

The Gathering at Sheldon Vineyards April 16. There will be a potluck so bring something to share. Meet at 4 Brothers in Wilkesboro to travel to Shelton. They will depart at 9am from 4 Brothers. To pre-gather meet at Pappi’s at 8am to go to 4 Brothers. Erik Jordan will lead the group there.

April 23 Springtime for the Brits sponsored by the British Motor Club of the Cape Fear at Wrightsville Beach Park . Registration begins at 9am.

April 23 British Car Meet at Higgins Farm in Uwarhie, NC 10am-6pm.

April 26 in Shelby 9am-3pm

April 30 Pinehurst Concurs d’Elegance. Friday and Saturday event.

April 30 Yadkin Valley Invitational (Formerly the Moonshine Rally) Invitation only

May 13-14 Springtime in the Smokies Townsend TN

May 14 Transportation Museum trip in Spencer, NC. Leave from Boxcar Grill in Claremont at 9am.

Old Business:

Kathy Ahrendt researched the license plates for the front of cars to advertise the group. The design was shown on the screen for all to view. A motion was made by Robert Lineberger and seconded by Mike Outent order 25 license plates, which will be sold to members when they arrive.

New Business:
Updates on Car Projects, etc.
Corky has a new dent from an accident. He used Jimmy’s Auto Body for repairs.

Rick Harris had water pump radiator work don and high beam wire repair and plans to be back on the road shortly.

50/50 Drawing collected by Clay Rawn and won by Dottie Ferguson. The split was $57.00.
