CATAWBA VALLEY BRITISH MOTOR CLUB

The June 9, 2015 meeting of the CVBMC was held in Lenoir N.C. at the 1841 Restaurant. This was a new venue for us and one we hope to visit again. We had eleven “little British cars” and forty-nine members present.

The meeting was brought to order at 7:00 p.m. by our President Bobby Cox.

Speakers for our evening were Dean Spraque and David Ardendt. They told us of their new business venture. They are building Digital Dynamo Regulators under the trade name Vintage Mecha-Tronics. Dean’s son Chris actually developed this device. This regulator is responsible for monitoring the battery voltage and the dynamo current as feedback to a control system which in turn drives the dynamo’s field coil. These regulators provide a more reliable and stable charging system that will maintain better charging voltages for the vehicle’s electrical system. This fits into the original enclosure thereby looking stock. We hope they do well with this project.

Under new business, several suggestions were given for a new meeting place. Priscilla Guenther agreed to take over name badges. There was a discussion on what we could do for Collector Car Day, no decision was reached.

Old business, Kathy Ardendt informed us that our Christmas party at the Crowne Plaza in Hickory is all set. During this time Dean entertained us with the story of his son, Jason, and their motorcycle trip of 1,200 miles in 4 days.

Our club officers reported all is well with 65 paid members and plenty of events coming up in the next few weeks.

50/50 was won by Sandy Cox.
