April, 2015 CVBMC Minutes

The CVBMC met April 14 2015 at JD’s Smokehouse in beautiful Valdese N.C.  Even through the weather was rainy and cold we had six LBC’s in the parking lot and 44 people in attendance.  

The meeting was called to order by President Bobby Cox at 7:00 pm and visitors welcomed. Our speakers for the evening were two of our own members, Mike Havlic and Mike Outen.  These guys were very entertaining and informative speakers as they talked to us about SCCA and Vintage racing. They showed us film of things they had experienced personally during theirs years of racing. It was summed up greatly when Mike  Havlic said he was showing his daughter pictures of cars being worked on and asked her if she knew what she was looking at and she said “Yes, old men playing with cars!”

Thanks to Mike and Mike for sharing their experiences.

Our membership chairman, Harley Blodgett, reported we now have 61 paid members.

 Eric Jordan, Events chairman, reported on upcoming trips and shows, of which there are many, so everyone should have an opportunity to get out and enjoy their cars.

Old business was a discussion about the need for a new sound system, it was decided to investigate this farther.
