Minutes - May 13, 2014

Call to Order: Charles Reed called meeting to order at JD’s BBQ in Valdese ,NC

Recognize new members or guests:

John Wise, a guest, spoke about his MGB

Guest speaker:  Bill Madden of Hawks Hill Community in Lenoir, spoke about upcoming Picnic in the Park on June 28^th. Car club was invited to attend.

Officer Reports:

• VP/Jim Ferguson- na

• Treasurer/Priscilla Guenther- $2565.85

• Membership/Harley Blodgett - 71 members

• Publications/Corky Guenther- articles for the Marque

• Events/Eric Jordan- list was read for upcoming events through May

• Web Master/Kathy Ahrendt- will put info on upcoming events on web site.

Old Business: Jerry Sicard and Wayne Starnes gave update on the trip to Pinehurst, NC on May 3^rd and 4^th. Six couples drove their British Cars down, attended a Beatles Concert, and spent the night. Sunday’s drive home included stopping in Ashboro, NC for some antiquing, lunch at a delicious local restaurant, with great weather.

New Business: Club’s invite to participate in car show at Valdese Festival on August 9^th was discussed and agreed to take part.

A trip to West Jefferson NC was discussed but not finalized.

Cars & Coffee at Panera Bread on Saturday, May 31 was set with a drive afterwards to Latta Plantation.

June and July Meeting will be held at Harbor Inn Restaurant in Hickory.

50/50 Drawing: Dot Martin was the winner.
