October 8, 2013
The October meeting was held at the Harbor Inn Seafood restaurant located on Fairgrove Church Road in Hickory, NC.
Call to order - Welcome
President Dean Sprague called the monthly meeting to order at 7 PM and welcomed approximately 35 members and guests.
Recognized members driving British cars
13 members drove British cars to the meeting.
Recognized members wearing club badges
12 members wore club badges to the meeting.
Anniversaries: Corky & Priscilla Guenther are celebrating their 35th anniversary, and John & April Abernethy are celebrating their 32nd anniversary in October.
Birthdays: Members Dave Barlowe, Erik Jordan and Wayne Starnes are all celebrating their birthdays in October.
Officer reports:
Vice-President, Charlie Reed gave a report that he donated snacks and food that was the club had leftover to a class at his church and to the Corner Table. He said he received a nice thank you letter from the Corner Table.
Treasurer, Priscilla Guenther gave the clubs financial report for October.

Membership, Harley Blodgett reported that we have 68 2013 members and one paid member already for 2014.
Publications, Corky Guenther reported that he is grateful for the articles he’s received and hopes that they will continue.
Events, Erik Jordan gave a summary of all the events that are being held in October. These are all listed in the CVBMC website.
Old Business: There was a recap of the mountain tour held by Bill Baird.
New Business: Dean Sprague asked the membership to be thinking about the election of officers coming up at the November meeting. All officers have agreed to remain in their positions except for the President, Vice-President and Secretary.
In other business, there was a motion made that the club pay for the room rental at Market on Main in Hickory where we are having our Christmas party. It was seconded and passed by the membership.
Rona Saunders asked members to be thinking of something that can either be purchased or handmade to donate to the club for the silent auction during our Christmas party. She also asked to members to email her with what they are donating.
Since there was not a formal presentation members were asked to talk about anything they wanted to. Some talked about cars that they sold while others talked about their trip to Nags Head.
The meeting ended with the 50/50 drawing.
The next meeting will be at the Harbor Inn and Seafood restaurant in Hickory, NC on November 12th when election of officers will be held.
