CATAWBA VALLEY BRITISH MOTOR CLUB

September 10, 2013

The September meeting was held at the Harbor Inn Seafood restaurant located on Fairgrove Church Road in Hickory, NC.

Call to order - Welcome
President Dean Sprague called the monthly meeting to order at 7 PM and welcomed 26 members and guests.  

Recognized members driving British cars
8 members drove British cars to the meeting.

Recognized members wearing club badges
7 members wore club badges to the meeting.

Officer reports:

The Vice-President, Treasurer and Publications chairman were all on a trip to Nags Head with other members of the club so Dean Sprague gave their reports for them.

He asked if there were any birthdays or anniversaries in September.  Members Dave Poe and David Ahrendt are both celebrating birthdays in September, and David & Kathy Ahrendt are celebrating their anniversary in September.

Dean gave the Treasurer’s report for Priscilla who gave him the balance as of 9/9/13 at $1,948.83.

Dean also reported that Corky was pleased with all of the articles that were turned in by club members.

Membership, Harley Blodgett reported that paid members remains at 68.

Events, Erik Jordan talked about the September events which are posted on the CVBMC website.

Old Business:  The turnout at Rona Saunders picnic went well using the leftover food from the Collector Car Day event.

New Business:  The speaker for our October meeting will be Rick Harris who is one of our members.  His presentation will deal with his hobby of building and flying radio controlled model airplanes.

Presentation:  Dean Sprague gave an abbreviated power point presentation about the CVBMC which he intends to use to acquaint community organizations about our organization and mission.  The presentation was written and developed by Dean and Corky Guenther.

Gary Shaver won the 50/50 drawing.

The next meeting will be at the Harbor Inn and Seafood restaurant in Hickory, NC on October 8th.  Meeting Adjourned.
