Officer reports:
Vice-President, Charlie Reed asked if any members were celebrating a birthday or anniversary in February. No members present had a February birthday but Gail and Rich Neary are going to celebrate their anniversary February 26th.
Charlie also mentioned that it is that time of year for members to get their British cars in shape for the upcoming events that are beginning in March. He reminded members that all events will be posted on the club website.
Treasurer, Priscilla Guenther reported the balance in the club checking account was more than $2,600 before paying for the meal at Murray’s.
Membership, Harley Blodgett reported that the club now has 76 members of which 45 are paid. He will continue to remind those that haven’t paid to pay their dues.
Publications, Corky Guenther reported that he has enough articles he can submit to the British Marque but he needs articles from the members for the next Marque. Corky made several suggestions that members could write about.
Events, Erik Jordan could not attend but several events were covered by Vice-President Charlie Reed and will be posted on the club website as mentioned earlier.
Old Business: None.
New Business: President Dean Sprague requested that the club purchase a portable PA system since it is hard for all members at the meetings to hear what is going on. After a discussion Elaine Blodgett made the motion to purchase one which was seconded by Leslie Barlow, and approved by the membership.
Dean also said that at the March meeting there will be a presentation by famous automotive artist Dan McCrary. He will bring several of his works and talk about automotive art.
A “Cars and Coffee” is scheduled for Saturday, February 23rd in Claremont at Cup ‘O Bean.
Presentation: For Valentine’s Day Kris Sicard and Rona Saunders on behalf of the club presented a $25 gift card for dinner at Murray’s restaurant to Rich and Gail Neary. Also, there were three door prizes which were won by Dottie Ferguson, Bev Sprague and Priscilla Guenther.
Loretta and Clay Rawn won the 50/50 drawing.
The next meeting will be at the Harbor Inn and Seafood restaurant in Hickory, NC.
