April 9, 2013

The Catawba Valley British Motor Club met on the bitterly cold evening of 11-12-13
at the Habor Inn Restaurant in Hickory, N.C.  
Call to order - Welcome
The meeting was brought to order by our President Dean Sprague at 7:00 p.m.
Recognized members driving British cars
We had one brave soul that drove a British car to the meeting; Harley said he had the best and prettiest British car in the parking lot.
Recognized members wearing club badges
We had ten members wearing club badges.
Birthdays and Anniversaries:
Members: Dick Martin, Priscilla Guenther, Gary Shaver, and Clay Rawn are celebrating birthdays this month and Jimmy& Erina Dameron and John & Molly Adamson are celebrating anniversaies.
Officer reports:
Vice-president
Charles Reed had nothing to report but did encourage members to participate in the up-coming Christmas Parade in Claremont.  Ten members agreed to attend; they will meet at the Boxcar Grill at 1:30 on Dec. 7th.
Treasurer
Kathy Ahrendt gave the treasurer’s report for Priscilla who was absent from the meeting. We have money.
Membership
  Harley Blodgett reported we have 68 members now with five paid for 2014.  

Publications chairman and Events chairman were both absent so there were no reports available from them.
 
Old business:
Gary Shaver reported on the Joara fundraising tour sponsored by the Tablerock Sports Club. This was a 98.2 mile scenic tour to raise money for the excavation of the town of Joara located in Morganton N.C.  8 member cars participated.
     Wayne Starnes reported on the Chattanooga Choo Choo tour sponsored by the Southern British Car Club.  This was their 20th anniversary. Wayne reported the weather was great and Charles Reed and Corky Guenther came home with 1st and 3rd  place trophies respective.
New business:  
·    Kathy Ahrendt told about details of our up-coming Christmas party and handed out information about cost and location, the information will be mailed to those not in attendance at the meeting. Rona Saunders reported on items for the silent auction, there will be treasures, goodies and surprises.
·    George Ennis reported that he had used the services of Dr. Vinyl in Hickory and was very satisfied. Dr. Vinyl gave a presentation to our club recently.
·    Election for new officers was held, those elected are:
Charles Reed- President
Jim Ferguson- Vice-president
Kris Sicard- Secretary
All committee chair-people volunteered to keep their positions for another year:
Priscilla Guenther/ Treasurer,
Harley Blodgett/ Membership,
Corky Guenther/Publications,
Erik Jordan/ Events.
