The car show season is in full swing in the South. Pick a weekend day and you'll find three or four things to do that are car related. The members of CVBMC have been attending many of these events.

On April 23 we had a large group of members attend the Triumph Club's The Gathering at Shelton Vineyards.” This is an annual event that they were able to hold this year after a two year pause. The field was full of over 325 cars, the most that has ever attended the event.

The show is held in a large open area right next the start of the grapevines on the property. The tasting room was open to all participants and they have a pop-up restaurant to serve the attendees with tasty food and drink. Many attendees take advantage of the case pricing for wines. It's fun to watch how the wine gets creatively and safely put into the boot of the smaller LBCs in attendance.

CVBMC members didn't disappoint in the spread that they brought to share with the other members. Salads, shrimp, fruit and many desserts were available to snack on as the day went on. It was a perfect day with some light winds and warm temperatures.

Congrats to all of our club members who won in their class. I did try to get the names but somewhere along the line I've lost them... I'll try to find that piece of paper for the next issue.

On April 30 a few members attended the Broad River European Motor Club show in Shelby, NC. This is a smaller scale show with about 75+ cars in attendance. But it's still as much fun. The Bentley at the show became very popular with those who wanted to buy 50/50 tickets. The seller would stand at one point on the car and someone else would walk the roll around the car until they got back to the start. Needless to say, the largest car was the best one to pick! Did it help to buy the “circle the car” option? I guess not for us, since we didn't win. But it was still fun to watch.

The admission fee came with one BBQ lunch with homemade desserts. Quite a treat. It was a beautiful day and the venue was a farm just outside Shelby with a small cabin and lots of shade.

Our club members didn't win any trophies but the day was so nice we really didn't mind.

May holds some events for the club that we've never done before. We'll be traveling to a fire truck manufacturer and to the Equestrian Center. They both sound like a good time.
