Our May 29th monthly Cars & Coffee at our normal location, Hickory Bread, attracted 22 members & guests. This was our first gathering under the relaxed Covid 19 mask restrictions allowing us to meet without restrictive Social Distancing and the largest number we’ve had for the past year. It felt good.
Following the gathering, several of us traveled to Taylorsville where the local Radio Control model plane club was hosting a Fly In. The details of the models are amazing though upon reflection, probably not unexpected. During conversations with one of the owners, the question of radio range came up. The answer was “farther than you can see” meaning beyond where you can visually determine what the plane is doing. This same owner thanked us for bringing out the cars and we responded by saying that we enjoyed watching the show and seeing other folks with an expensive hobby which drew an appreciative laugh and agreement. Some of the trailers were big enough to carry the TC with room to spare. Another attraction was the Crossroads Grill where several of us adjourned for lunch – some of the best burgers around. Then another smaller group went on to spend a couple of hours at a pair of Antique malls. Priscilla and I escaped unscathed.
LBCs and conversation, RC Planes, and food - twice! Antique browsing too. All in all, a great day.
