Saturday the 12th of April found a number of CVBMC members at the 29th annual Gathering hosted by the Triumph Club of the Carolinas.  We had caravanned to Shelton Vineyards from a couple of starting points but were united Creekside under a canopy and around a picnic table (important).  Most of us spent some time and some of us a lot of time wandering about looking at 270 plus cars distributed around the grounds.  The vendor’s tables yielded some treasures as well specifically, a set of SU carburetors destined for duty under the bonnet of a “Crazy” TR7.

The Gathering is always a relaxed atmosphere and we did our best to live up to it with the most important happening being a pot-luck lunch.    Several people also took advantage of the venue to purchase wine to accompany lunch. 

After lunch, more wandering and conversation while we waited for the balloting results.  Awards were presented to CVBMC members Dave & Kathy Ahrendt (TC) Jim & Dottie Ferguson (MGA and Riley) Wayne & Earlene Starnes (MGB RB) along with Jack & Emily Poteet (Morgan) who had departed before the awards were announced.
No doubt, we’ll be back.
