It’s always nice to try something new. And this year we have tried to go to different events. Ones that are not necessarily British events but ones that have a new twist or are for a good cause.

On October 5th a couple of CVBMC cars ventured over to the Vintage Tin show held at a resort on Lake Lure. The setting couldn’t have been better. When we arrived there were about 70 cars on the field and by the time registration ended there were close to 175.

The cars ranged from hot rods to classic Caddy’s. There were some very cool restored pickup trucks, muscle cars and other rare imports. It was a great time looking over the wide variety of autos.

During the day the organizers sent out judges (it was a judged show) to look over all of the cars to pick the top 35 cars. We don’t really know what the criterion was, but it was fun to try to figure out which cars were likely to be in the running.

This show also had a new twist to a poker run. They had a “walking poker run” where the participants walked the car show field picking up cards from designated spots. We opted not to do the poker run due to the heat that afternoon. We spent time enjoying the cars and the shade that we found. Since there weren’t many British cars, we had lots of people stop by asking about what they were.

The day couldn’t have been nicer, the show was for a good cause and we also managed to find an ice cream place on the way home to make the day complete. So if you have the chance, try something new... you might just find a new favorite thing to do.
